Diane M. Harris Bio
Diane M. Harris is a small business owner,
Joliet Library Trustee, and the 23rd Precinct Republican Committeeman.
She was raised in a conservative Democrat
family; her father worked as a private chauffeur and her mother was a
stay-at-home mom. They never lived above their means, and they taught Diane
integrity and a strong work ethic. She graduated from Joliet Central High
School and Joliet Junior College. She then attended the University of St.
Francis but graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science
in Management.
She retired from ComEd after 32 years as a
Liability Representative. Diane now has three beautiful children and two dogs.
She owns and operates a ladies’ boutique called ItisAmazing in downtown Joliet.
She is also a licensed insurance agent in the State of Illinois.
Diane has managed and volunteered on many
campaigns, volunteers for community organizations, and taught Sunday School
at her church. She promotes new and upcoming small businesses, even while
managing the demands of her own business. She is the Vice-Chairman of the
Joliet Township Republican Organizations, an at-large board member for the
Cathedral Area Preservation Association, a board member in the City Center
Partnership and serves as the South Suburban Regions Black Chamber’s
Treasurer. She is also a member of the National Rifle Association, Zonta Club, NHBW, and the Joliet Chamber of Commerce.
Diane’s passion is politics, and her goal is to
bring a conservative voice to the government by promoting awareness to the voting
public. As Vice-Chair of the Joliet Township Republican Organization, she
recruits great candidates to fight for freedom and liberty. She feels it’s
important that the voters know what it means to have a government of the
people, for the people, and by the people.
